Snow in October?!

It's snow. Enough said.

In our neck of the woods, it snows. A lot.
It also gets cold. Very cold.
The weather has been flirting with the idea of snow on and off for a few weeks. Today was the first morning that it snowed and it stayed.

I love snow and how it makes the otherwise barren-looking scenery, feel magical. However, I do not love the cold weather that usually accompanies, said snow.

Ugh, the never-ending mounds of hats, gloves, coats, snow pants and boots... x4!!!

My little snow bunny

Alas, with 4 kids, I am forced to bear it and grin, rather exaggeratedly may I add. So, with such excitement unleashed from my 2 yr old about the first real snowfall of the year, I made the trek outside. And you know what I realized? After about 5 minutes of shivering and losing sensation in my fingertips, seeing the look on her face as she ran up and down the backyard, made it totally worth it.

Isn't that why we mom's do most everything and anything for our kids? We will put ourselves through the worst, most uncomfortable situations to catch the never-ending wonder in their eyes .
To listen to them squeal and joyously laugh while stomping through puddles.
To witness them learn something they couldn't do the year before and hear them say, "Look Mom! I can ride without training wheels!"

To see them run in the snow, exclaiming, "Mommy! I making tracks wif my Dora boots!"

So, it was a little cold for my liking.
But, I love my little punkin' even more.
